The WMPCS 5K at Smoke on the Water is scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Festival Park, 119 E. Water St., Washington, NC 27889. The event offers the following race options:

- 5K Recreational
The race takes place along the Washington waterfront. Proceeds benefit Washington Montessori Public Charter School (WMPCS) and specifically support field trips that aim to expand students' leadership and learning experiences.
Registration, fees and awards
Registration pricing is $25 through October 4 and $30 from October 5 through race day. T-shirts are included with regular registration completed by October 4; late and day-of registrants receive shirts on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration closes on October 18, 2025.
Awards are given to the overall top male and female finishers and to the top male and female in these age groups: 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & over.
