Slievenamon
Slievenamon is a mountain running event in County Tipperary held on Sunday 10th May 2026. The main course is 9.97 km with 580 m of climb; a short course of 4.81 km is also offered.

The event is part of the Munster Championship. It is rated Event Difficulty 8 (3,3,2) for difficult terrain, more than 500 m ascent, and a 6–10 km category. Only major junctions are marked and GPS use is allowed. Mandatory kit is Level B - Standard and includes a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, charged mobile phone with emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag. Runners must be able to carry the kit; random checks may be carried out and lack of required items may lead to denied entry or disqualification.
The event car park is in Kilcash village, signposted and stewarded, with a 2 euro charge per car and public toilets available. The route begins at a barrier about 100 m up the trail from the car park and includes a climb to the cairn with a clockwise route down to a rocky descent and a road section back to the village finish. Entry is limited to 250 runners. Entry opens 4 May 2026 and closes 9 May 2026 with fees of €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s.
A junior trial acts as a selection race for the WMRA U18 Mountain Running Championships. Eligible juniors are those born in 2008 or 2009; the trial follows the mountain section and finishes 500 metres beyond the summit while the main race continues to the start/finish line. The trial route is about 6.6 km with 612 m ascent. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
