About the race
The Shiitake 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for October 17, 2026, in Madisonville, Texas, with the race course at Lake Madison near 1215 East Collard Street. The event includes a main 5K and a Lil' Shiitake Kids Mile.

Awards for the 5K (ages 13 and up) are given for Top Overall Female and Top Overall Male, and for 1st through 3rd place within these age groups: 13-18, 19-39, 40-60, and 61+. Awards for the Kids Mile (age 12 and under) are given for 1st through 3rd place.
Distances:
- 5 km chip timed, medal for finishers.
- Kids Mile for age 12 and under, separate awards and registration fee.
