Shiitake 5K Run/Walk
The Shiitake 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for October 17, 2026 in Madisonville, TX near Lake Madison. The event includes a chip timed 5K and a separate Lil' Shiitake Kids Mile for children.
Registration details listed by the organizer include a fee of $45 per person until October 3, 2025 and $50 per person after that date. A separate registration fee applies for the kids mile. Packet pickup is available the evening before the event at the Truman Kimbro Center, 113 W Trinity, and packets will also be available the morning of the event. Participants who register by September 18, 2025 are guaranteed a t-shirt; registrations after that date are not guaranteed a shirt and shirts are distributed while available.
Every participant in the 5K will receive a medal. Awards for the 5K are offered in overall male and female categories plus age-group awards for ages 13 and up, with specific first, second, and third place recognitions by age group. Awards for the kids mile are given for first through third place for children 12 and under. Additional festival information is available through the event website txmushfest.org.
