Sheriff’s Zombie Run
Sheriff’s Zombie Run is an immersive, themed running event held on October 24, 2026, at Ascarate Park in El Paso, Texas. The event features a non-competitive, scenario-based format in which participants navigate a course while avoiding volunteers acting as zombies. The advertised running distance is 2 Miles.
Participants receive a tear-flag belt as part of a swag bag; the flags represent "health." Zombies attempt to remove flags during the course. Finishing with at least one flag intact is treated as finishing "alive"; finishing with no flags indicates the participant has been "transformed" into the undead. Belts are returned at the finish in exchange for a medal.
The event includes a finish festival immediately following the run. Packet pickup is available at 3850 Justice St, El Paso, TX 79938 on October 21-23, and there is also race day pickup at the start line. Registrations are limited to the first 500 entrants. Registration fees are published in early, late, and race-day tiers; earlier registrants may receive event shirts while quantities last.
The description focuses on the event format, participant equipment, location, timing by date, and logistical notes about packet pickup and participant limits. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
