Shark Week Showdown - Little Elm, Texas
Shark Week Showdown is scheduled for July 26, 2026 at Beard Park in Little Elm, Texas. The event is hosted by Bigfoot Running Company and includes both in-person and virtual options.
Race distances offered:
- Kids Dash: 50 m
- 1 Mile: 1 mile
- 5K: 3.11 miles
- 10K: 6.22 miles
- Volunteer then Run 5K: 3.11 miles
- Virtual Run: 9.33 miles
The 5K and 10K are chip-timed and include awards. Finisher medals are provided for the 1 Mile, 5K, and 10K; a special Kids Dash medal is provided for young participants. Age group awards for the 5K and 10K cover standard age brackets from 10 and under through 70 plus, with placements for first, second, and third.
Participants receive a race tee and may access post-race music and finish-line celebrations. Aid stations are available along the course. Course surfaces include pavement, crushed granite, and some dirt paths within park and greenbelt areas.
Volunteer opportunities include a Volunteer Then Run option for the 5K that provides a timed bib, race tee, and finisher medal and is limited to the first ten sign-ups. Full race volunteers receive a race shirt, VIP race access, and a choice of a future race entry or a $20 prepaid digital gift card. Additional volunteer roles cover water stations, course monitoring, finish-line assistance, packet pickup, and other event support.
