Shakespeare Marathon and Half Marathon
This organized event takes place in Stratford-upon-Avon on closed roads. The race offers two distinct distances for participants:
- Half Marathon
- Marathon
The course is flat and follows a specific lap format. Participants in the half marathon complete one lap, while those in the marathon complete two laps. The route begins in the town centre and passes the racecourse before heading into the villages of Luddington and Welford-on-Avon. Runners then transition onto the Stratford Greenway to return toward the town. The half marathon finishes at The Recreation Ground. Marathon participants follow an extended second loop that includes Long Marston before concluding at the same finish area.
The event utilizes electronic chip timing for results, and each kilometre is marked with distance flags. Marshals are stationed throughout the course to provide guidance to participants. An event village is located on-site, providing various food and drink options as well as partner refreshments at the finish line.
Registered participants receive a unique themed medal and access to free official photographs after the race. Event t-shirts featuring the race logo are available as an optional purchase. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
