Shakespeare Marathon & Half Marathon : Stratford-upon-Avon, 26 April 2026
The Shakespeare Marathon & Half Marathon is a road closed running event in Stratford-upon-Avon on Sunday 26 April 2026. The event offers two distances:
- Half marathon 1 lap around the course
- Marathon 2 laps with an extended second loop
The course is described as flat and fast. It starts in the town centre, passes the racecourse, heads into Luddington and Welford-on-Avon, then joins the Stratford Greenway footpath, a hard compact route that returns into Stratford-upon-Avon. The half marathon finishes at The Recreation Ground. The marathon completes an additional loop that passes through Long Marston before returning to The Recreation Ground for the finish.
Organisers and partners include RunThrough, Stratford Rotary Club, and event sponsors such as Nuun. The race supports The Shakespeare Hospice.
Entries include chip timed results, a unique themed medal, free official event photographs, and post-race refreshments. Each kilometre is marked and marshals are provided along the route.
