Event details
The Shakespeare Marathon & Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 26 April 2026 in Stratford-upon-Avon (CV37 7LS). The event is organised by RunThrough in partnership with Stratford Rotary Club and supports The Shakespeare Hospice. It is presented by Nuun. Entry categories and listed prices are:
- Half Marathon : £40
- Marathon : £45
- Shakespeare Hospice Charity Place : £80
The event is held on closed roads for the majority of the route, with some sections on the Stratford Greenway footpath.
Course and included services
The half marathon follows one lap; the marathon follows two laps with an extended second loop that also passes through Long Marston. The route runs from the town centre, past the racecourse, into Luddington and Welford-on-Avon, then joins the Stratford Greenway back into Stratford-upon-Avon and finishes at The Recreation Ground.
Entries include a unique themed medal, chip-timed results, free official event photographs and post-race refreshments. Each kilometre is marked with distance flags and marshals are stationed on the course. The Stratford Greenway section is described as a hard compact footpath.
