Event overview
The Shakespeare Marathon & Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 26 April 2026 in Stratford-upon-Avon. The event is organised by RunThrough in partnership with Stratford Rotary Club, presented by Nuun, and supports The Shakespeare Hospice. The event village and finish area are at The Recreation Ground, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 7LS.

Course
The course is road closed for the majority of the route, with some sections on the Stratford Greenway footpath, a hard compact surface. The half marathon follows one lap of the course. The marathon follows an extended two-lap route. The route leaves the town centre, passes the racecourse, runs through Luddington and Welford-on-Avon, joins the Stratford Greenway back to Stratford-upon-Avon, and finishes at The Recreation Ground. The marathon’s second loop also passes through Long Marston.
Services and entry
Entries listed in the event information show the half marathon at £40 and the marathon at £45. Entries include a themed medal, chip-timed results, free official event photographs, post-race refreshments and kilometre distance flags. The event uses marshals on the course and an event village with food and drink options. An optional event t-shirt is available for purchase via the event kit partner.
