Shakespeare Marathon & Half Marathon : Stratford-upon-Avon
The Shakespeare Marathon and Half Marathon takes place in Stratford-upon-Avon on Sunday 25 April 2027. The event is organised by RunThrough in partnership with Stratford Rotary Club and supports The Shakespeare Hospice.
Both races use a route that is largely on closed roads, with sections on the Stratford Greenway footpath. The Greenway is described as a hard, compact footpath. The course is generally flat and follows a town-centre start route that passes the racecourse, then continues through Luddington and Welford-on-Avon before joining the Greenway back into Stratford-upon-Avon. Runners finish on the Recreation Ground.
The half marathon follows a single lap. The marathon consists of two laps, including an extended second loop that runs through Long Marston before returning to the Recreation Ground. Organisers provide a mapped course and height profile for reference. The event is presented as a road-closed race around Stratford and the surrounding area.
