Event Overview
The Shakespeare Marathon and Half Marathon is scheduled for Sunday 26th April 2026 in Stratford-upon-Avon. The event offers marathon and half marathon distances on a road-closed course. It is chip-timed and presented by Nuun. The event supports The Shakespeare Hospice and is organized by RunThrough in partnership with Stratford Rotary Club.
Course Description
The course is described as flat and fast. The half marathon consists of one lap, while the marathon consists of two laps. The majority of the route follows closed roads, with the remainder on the Stratford Greenway footpath, a hard compact path. The route heads from the town centre, past the racecourse, into Luddington and Welford-on-Avon, then joins the Stratford Greenway back to Stratford-upon-Avon. The half marathon finishes at the Recreation Ground. The marathon includes a second, extended loop through Long Marston before finishing at the Recreation Ground.
