Serengeti Trail Races
The Serengeti Trail Races take place in Erda, UT at the Bates Canyon Trail Head within the Serengeti/Oquirrh Wave trail system at the feet of the Oquirrh Mountains. Courses run on a mix of dirt road, ATV trails, single-track and double-track and offer views of the Tooele Valley, the Great Salt Lake, and the Stansbury Mountain Range.
Distances offered
- 50K: 31.1 miles, two 25k loops, 4,500 ft vertical
- 25K: 15.55 miles, 2,250 ft vertical
- 10K: 6.45 miles, 1,250 ft vertical
The 50K consists of two 25k loops run in opposite directions and includes named segments such as the BBC trail and the Pole Canyon double-track. Aid stations are located on the course (for example BBC and Start/Finish area are listed for the longer distances). Hard cutoffs are enforced by mileage and elapsed time (for example 15.55 miles - 4.5 hours; full 50K - 9 hours). The event is USATF sanctioned and awards the top three men and women in each distance.
