Selma to Montgomery 51 Mile Relay
The event is a multi-format 51 mile route that begins at 101 Broad Street in Selma and finishes at the state capitol in Montgomery, Alabama. Formats include a relay, solo runner entries, on-road bike rides, and virtual run or bike options.
Most in-person options open registration on May 25, 2026 and close on July 2, 2026. Standard registration fees are listed as $150 for many running and bike entries, $195 for the bike option that includes transportation, and $70 for virtual entries. Virtual participants may complete parts of the course or the full 51 miles over a period of time and submit their time through Run Sign Up; virtual participants do not qualify for awards. Goodie bags for virtual participants will be mailed the week of the event.
The bike transportation option provides transport to the start and includes bicycle storage and pickup in Montgomery. That transport option requires a minimum number of participants by the registration deadline or it may be canceled; affected participants may be offered a full refund or a transfer to the nontransport bike option.
