Scotland's Washed Out Bridge Endurance Challenge
The event is an evening endurance challenge held in Scotland, Connecticut. Participants have two hours to run from the starting point over a temporary one lane bridge to the washed out bridge and back, completing as many loops of 1 mile as they can, with a minimum of one loop.
Neon jelly bracelets will be available to help runners keep track of completed loops. Organizers do not allow runners to re-enter the course when ten minutes remain in the two hour period.
Because the challenge takes place in the evening, participants are encouraged to wear neon clothing. A personal light such as a handheld torch, headlamp, or lit vest is required for runners who continue on the course between 8pm and 9pm.
Registration opens May 18, 2026 and closes August 14, 2026. The stated registration fee is $25.00.
The course layout is an out and back loop that uses a temporary one lane bridge and finishes at the washed out bridge before returning to the start. The event format emphasizes repeated short loops and self-monitoring of laps using the bracelets provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
