Scotland Coast to Coast
Scotland Coast to Coast is a multisport mass participation event held on 12 and 13 September 2026. Participants can complete the route in one day or across two days. The route crosses Scottish Highland landscapes and passes through Glen Coe and along the shores of Loch Ness. The final running section includes part of the West Highland Way and finishes with a one mile kayak stage.
The event combines running, road and off-road cycling, a mountain trek or run, and kayaking. The course is fully waymarked with bright orange arrows and is supported by private mountain safety staff at key locations. Medical provision is delivered by a professional event medic provider with paramedics, doctors and a private ambulance on the ground. Bag movements and bookable shuttle bus transfers are available; bike hire is offered subject to availability. Kayaks are provided and paddling is normally done in pairs, with solo paddling possible for those arriving alone.
Participants must be over 18 on the day of registration. Cut-offs are enforced for safety and are based on daylight and location; participants who miss cut-offs will be transported forward to the finish. Registration takes place at Cawdor Castle on the Friday before the event and on-event information includes a mandatory kit list and contingency plans for route changes.
