About the race
The Scorchin' Squirrel Trail Run is a trail race held at Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center near Little Rock on 08/21/2027. The course uses the camp’s trail system across its 1,200 acres and finishes at the Ferncliff pool pavilion.
There are four loop-based distance options:
- 10kish - 1 loop, approximate
- 11.5 mile - 2 loops, approximate
- 15.5 mile - 3 loops, approximate
- 19.5 mile - 4 loops, approximate
Each loop passes one full aid station and one water drop. The route includes notable uphill sections and may include water crossings in wet weather. All distances return to the start at the pool pavilion, which offers a large covered pavilion, changing stalls, and pool access after the race.
Refreshments and a cookout are provided at the finish; burgers and hot dogs will be available and participants are invited to bring items to share. No race day registration is allowed. Proceeds from the event support Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center. The organizer lists volunteer roles and notes about lodging availability for the evening before the event.
