Schweizer Frauenlauf Bern
The Schweizer Frauenlauf Bern is a major sporting event for women held in the city of Bern. The event features a scenic course that runs along the Aare river, attracting thousands of participants and spectators annually. The program includes various formats such as running, walking, and nordic walking across several distances.
Participants can choose from the following options:
- 10 km Running, Run for Fun, or (Nordic) Walking
- 5 km Running, Run for Fun, or (Nordic) Walking
- 3 km Easy Walk for all (with or without poles)
- 1.6 km Teens Meile, Girls Meile, or Family Run
- 500 m Girls Sprint for the youngest participants
The event is organized into specific categories based on age and discipline. Some categories, such as the Girls Sprint and the Easy Walk, focus on participation and do not produce a competitive ranking, providing instead an alphabetical list of finishers. For the longer distances of 5 km and 10 km, a sweep vehicle follows the field to ensure the safety of participants and the timely reopening of roads.
Special provisions are available for visually impaired runners, who may participate with a guide. Group registrations are available for school classes and teams of eight or more people, with specific discounts applied for larger groups. The finish area is located at the Bundesplatz.
