Scarecrow Walk
Scarecrow Walk is a nine-day autumn event at the USU Botanical Center in Kaysville, held September 26 to October 4, 2026, at 80 E. 725 S., Kaysville, UT 84037. The event presents a display of scarecrows created by local businesses, organizations, families, and individuals placed along scenic paths in the Varga Arboretum and demonstration gardens. Visitors can vote for the most popular scarecrow using numbered entries and QR codes. The event is free to the public and is open during the center's regular visiting hours.
The opening day includes a community 5K hosted with the Farmington Rotary Club. That off road 5K route passes through multiple gardens and circles the pond; awards are given to top finishers and a costume contest recognizes scarecrow-themed outfits. The walk route is approximately three quarters of a mile and consists of both dirt and paved paths that are described as stroller and wheelchair friendly. Leashed pets are welcome; owners are asked to remove waste.
Additional on-site features listed for the festival include food trucks, live music, and a children's area. The Botanical Center offers opportunities for scarecrow builders and event sponsorship with set deadlines and entry details administered by the center.
