Scarecrow 5k - Thanksgiving Point
The Scarecrow 5k is a seasonal 3.1-mile run held at Ashton Gardens and the adjacent Discovery Garden on October 17, 2026. The course passes through landscaped garden areas where community-built scarecrows are on display; organizers note some scarecrows may be interactive or animated.
Participants receive a race T-shirt and a custom finisher medal. The event is wheels-friendly, so strollers and running aides are permitted. There is one on-course aid station located at mile 1.6 stocked with water and POWERADE, in addition to support at the finish area.
Awards are given in an open division to the first three male and female finishers by gun time, and there are costume prizes for Best Costume and Best Group Costume. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at the Ashton Garden Visitors Center roundabout; packets must be collected in advance. A course map is listed as coming soon.
Registration fees follow tiered pricing: $35 from August 13 to September 15, and $40 from September 16 to October 14 with a note that T-shirt sizes may be limited at late registration. The event has a no refund policy; transfers and deferrals are allowed before September 30, 2026, with published transfer and deferral fees.
