The Saxons 5 Mile Race
The Saxons 5 Mile Race is held at Carlton Park Sports Pavilion, Carlton Park, Saxmundham, IP17 1AT under race licence 31039. The main event is a chip timed, multi terrain run that uses the sports field, footpaths and off road sections. The route leaves the sports field towards Brook Farm Road and Kelsale, then loops back to finish at the sports field. The event is fully marshalled and sign posted.
Race headquarters are at Saxmundham Running & Fitness Club. There is free marshalled car parking, changing facilities and toilets on site; there is no bag drop. Race numbers include a timing chip attached to the bib. The use of earphones is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification.
Entry fees for the main race are listed as affiliated runners £16 and unaffiliated runners £18. Refunds or deferrals are not offered; entry transfers are possible via the registration page contact process. Results are published on the organiser’s race result service.
A Junior Fun Run is held on the sports field with manual timing and medals for all junior finishers. All finishers in the main race receive a race memento. Prizes are awarded to the first three male and first three female finishers, to specified age category winners from M40 and F40 upward, and to first male and female teams based on the first three finishers to score.
