The Saxons 5 Mile Race

The Saxons 5 Mile Race takes place on Sunday 4th October 2026 at Carlton Park Sports Pavilion, Carlton Park, Saxmundham IP17 1AT. The event is held under race licence 31039 and is open to runners aged 15 and over.

The main event is a chip timed, multi terrain run across the sports field, footpaths and off road. The route leads from the sports field towards Brook Farm Road and Kelsale, then loops back to finish at the sports field. The course is fully marshalled and sign posted.

Distances

• 5 mile main race.
• 1 km junior fun run for ages 8 and under.
• 2 km junior fun run for ages 9 to 14.

Entry fees are shown on the entry page: affiliated runners £16 and unaffiliated runners £18 for the main race. Junior fun run entry is £3 with registration and payment on the day (cash only). The organiser does not offer refunds or deferrals; place transfers are possible via the registration contact process.

Race HQ is at the Saxmundham Running & Fitness Club pavilion. There is free marshalled car parking, changing facilities and toilets on site but no bag drop. Race numbers and timing chips are collected on the day; the timing chip is attached to the back of the race bib and safety pins and pens are provided. The use of earphones is prohibited and will result in disqualification. Results are published on My Race Results.
