The Nearly But Not Quite London Marathon
This is a seven hour time challenge held at The Last Hop, Thames Edge Court, Staines. Runners choose how many laps to complete; the minimum recorded distance is 3 km and laps are listed as 7 km (4.37 miles) but may be changed to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. Under UK Athletics age rules, the event provides 3 km and 5 km turn points within the lap for younger participants. Three laps equal a half marathon, six laps a marathon, and seven or more laps count as an ultra. A 50 km option is also available.
The course runs along the River Thames on mainly tarmac and well made paths with a short grass section. It is fully signed and suitable for road shoes. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules.
Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal. Distance pins are awarded for half-marathon distance and above and are attached to the medal ribbon. Finishers receive a goody bag with a vegan option available if requested. An aid table and drinks are provided at the start/finish of each lap.
Venue toilets are available but there are no separate changing rooms or showers. Parking is available at Bridge Street Car Park in Staines. A non-secure bag drop is provided and headphones are allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
