The Emu Endure - Staines-upon-Thames
The Emu Endure is a 7 hour Time Challenge held on Saturday 6 March 2027 at The Last Hop in Staines. The event takes place along a stretch of the River Thames on a fully signed loop, mostly on well-made paths and tarmac with a short grass section; road shoes are suitable year-round. The regular lap measures 4.37 miles (7 km) but may be altered to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. A 3 km minimum distance applies, with 3k and 5k turn points on the lap to meet UK Athletics age rules.
Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive an emu-themed medal. Runners who cover half-marathon distance or more receive a distance pin attached to the medal ribbon (Half-Marathon, Mega-Half, Marathon, 50 km and Ultra pins). The event provides a goody bag option including a vegan goody bag, and an aid/drinks table at the start/finish of each lap with sweet and savoury options and vegan choices.
The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules; UK Athletics club members receive a £2 discount. Membership in the organiser's scheme guarantees entry and offers a lowest entry price that is £10 lower than full price, plus a mini pin at each event attended.
Venue facilities include toilets; there are no separate showers or changing rooms. Parking is available at Bridge Street Car Park, Staines. Number pick up is on the day at race registration.
