Sarn Helen Hill Race
Sarn Helen Hill Race is a long-established event run by Sarn Helen Running and Cycling Club with over 40 years of history. The full route is approximately 16 miles. It starts in the university town of Lampeter, follows the Teifi valley and then climbs over hills, fields and tracks that cross the Sarn Helen roman road. The course uses mixed surfaces and footwear choice is often discussed in advance. The route passes through countryside of the Cambrian mountains and finishes at Lampeter Rugby Club, North Road, Lampeter SA48 7JA. The event date in 2026 is Sunday 24th May. Course records listed are male 1:34:29 (1982) and female 2:00:18 (1990). A prize of £250 is offered for the first man or woman to beat the course record.
The race can be entered individually or as a team of three. In the team event each member runs one leg, with approximate leg distances as follows:
- Leg 1 - approx 5 miles
- Leg 2 - approx 5 miles
- Leg 3 - approx 6 miles
