Santa's Spirit Sprint 5k & 1 Mile Run or Walk
The event is a holiday running and walking event held on 12/05/2026 at 440 Watt Avenue, Barnesville, OH 43713, United States. It offers both a 5k and a 1 mile distance and separate divisions for runners, walkers, and handcycle or wheelchair athletes.
- 5k (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile (1 mile)
The event raises funds and collects donations and gift cards to buy gifts, clothes, toys, and other items from local children’s Christmas wish lists. On average the organizers fill wish lists for about 15 to 24 less-fortunate children. Wish recipients are chosen from elementary, middle, and high school levels and may include siblings and special requests.
Walkers who register in a walking-only division must walk the entire course with one foot on the ground at all times; participants who do not comply may be disqualified without refund. Hand cyclists and wheelchair athletes receive a two minute staggered start to reduce congestion. Participants registering for both distances receive reduced pricing.
All participants receive a bag of treats, a ceramic-fired Christmas ornament, and jingle bells for their shoes. All Milers receive a finishing medal; 1 Mile awards include ceramic pottery trophies and age group medallions while 5k awards include more than 100 handcrafted Christmas trophies across divisions. More than 50 door prizes are available and refreshments will be offered. A parade takes place after the awards and shops are located about a quarter mile uptown.
