About the race
The Mt Buller SkyRun is a trail running event set in the Mount Buller area of Victoria on Sunday 6 December 2026. Races start and finish in the Village Square and follow alpine ridgelines, snow gum forest and mountain tracks through the Victorian High Country.
Available race distances:
- 45 km with 2,400 m elevation gain, minimum age 18, cut-off 9 hours, aid stations at Mt Stirling and Mirimbah Park.
- 36 km with 1,750 m elevation gain, minimum age 18, cut-off 9 hours, aid stations at Mt Stirling and Mirimbah Park.
- 22 km with 1,050 m elevation gain, minimum age 16, cut-off 4 hours, aid stations at Mt Stirling and Mt Buller Village.
- 5 km with 250 m elevation gain, minimum age 5, cut-off 3 hours.
- Kids Trail 2 km with 120 m elevation gain, no minimum age, maximum age 12, parents may accompany, no cut-off.
The 45 km course is described in five stages that pass Mt Stirling, Craig’s Hut, the Delatite River with multiple log bridge crossings, Mirimbah Park, and the Mount Buller summit and Village Square. Checkpoints on longer courses supply water, snacks and first aid. Course notes warn of vehicle traffic on some tracks and of shared trails used by fast downhill mountain bikers.
