About the race
The Mt Buller Sky Run is a trail running event on Sunday 6 December 2026 in Mount Buller, Victoria. Races start and finish at the Village Square and traverse alpine ridgelines, snow gum forest and mountain tracks in the Victorian High Country.
Distances offered:
- 45 km : 2,400 m elevation gain, minimum age 18, cut-off 9 hours, aid stations at Mt Stirling and Mirimbah Park.
- 36 km : 1,750 m elevation gain, minimum age 18, cut-off 9 hours, aid stations at Mt Stirling and Mirimbah Park.
- 22 km : 1,050 m elevation gain, minimum age 16, cut-off 5 hours, aid stations at Mt Stirling and Mt Buller Village.
- 5 km : 250 m elevation gain, minimum age 5, cut-off 3 hours.
- Kids Trail 2 km : 120 m elevation gain, no minimum age, maximum age 12, parents may accompany, no cut off.
The 45 km course follows a multi-stage route through Mt Buller Village, Mt Stirling, Craig’s Hut, the Delatite River and back to Mt Buller Summit, with specific checkpoints, water and first aid at Mt Stirling and Mirimbah Park. The 45 km route description notes multiple river crossings on log bridges, 4WD tracks, trail junctions and sections with vehicle or mountain bike traffic to be approached with caution.
