Sandhill Shuffle 5k Run/Walk
The Sandhill Shuffle 5k takes place on September 26, 2026 in Wheatfield and is organized by the Wheatfield Park Board as the fourth annual running of the event. The course is a 3.1 miles route that begins and ends at Centennial Park and follows streets through the town near Heather's Diner and Stower's & Son Meat & Grocer.
Proceeds from the event are designated for the Centennial Park playground project. The organizer indicates this project is closer to completion and that further park upgrades are planned.
Parking for the event is located at Wheatfield Elementary School lots, including the west side of the school and the north parking lot next to the Town hall. Registration fees are stated as Adults age 15 and up $25 and Youth age 14 and under $15. The entry price for ages 15 and up will increase to $30 on September 1, 2026. All registrations are final. There are no refunds.
Awards are presented at race completion and include Overall Female and Male, Overall Female and Male Masters, top three finishers by age division for both male and female across specified age groups, and awards in Athena (170 lbs and over), Clydesdale (210 lbs and over), and Non Binary divisions.
