Saltash Running Festival
The Saltash Running Festival takes place as part of the broader Saltash Mayfair weekend in Cornwall. Organized by the Tamar Trotters, the event is based at Longstone Park and offers participants a variety of distances held on road and rural lane surfaces. The festival includes professional chip timing for the competitive distances and medals for all finishers across every category.
The event features three primary distances:
- Half Marathon: A 13.1-mile road race through the town and surrounding countryside, featuring rolling hills and riverside views. This distance has a 3-hour cut-off time and is limited to 200 participants.
- 5K+: A distance of 5.134 kilometers set around the town. This race is limited to 100 participants.
- Fun Run: A 1.8-mile run with no age restrictions, though children under nine must be accompanied by an adult.
The half marathon and 5K+ races offer various awards. Top finishers in the male and female categories for the half marathon receive cash prizes, while trophies are provided for specific age groups. The 5K+ distance also includes prizes for the overall winners. Registration for the competitive races is available for both UKA members and non-members, with minimum age requirements of 17 for the half marathon and 11 for the 5K+.
