Salt Flats Endurance Runs - May 1 - 2, 2026
Salt Flats Endurance Runs takes place at the Bonneville Salt Flats International Speedway near Wendover, UT. The event offers multiple distances to choose from:
- 100 Miler
- 100K
- 50 Miler
- 50K
- 10K
- 5K
All courses begin at the speedway and use the same section of salt flats where land-speed records are set during Speedweek. The route includes about 13 miles of salt followed by roughly 3 miles of mud-flats before reaching the "Islands," mountain peaks that rise out of the salt. The 50K uses an out-and-back to the No Post aid station at 15.5 miles and then reverses for an exact 50 kilometers. The 50 Miler, 100K and 100 Miler follow rolling hills and connect two and four significant climbs respectively along the remainder of the course. The 100 Miler route crosses into Nevada at one point and returns to finish at the start area, where exposed salt is present near the finish.
Awards are given to the top three men and top three women overall for each distance. A 5K fun run was introduced in 2021 and a 10K was added in 2026; these short races use a simple out-and-back course and are intended for family or crew who are waiting for ultramarathon runners. Race-day bib pickup is provided and participants receive a Salt Flats Endurance Runs tech shirt and bib. Finishers awards will be added for the 5K and 10K in 2026.
