Rut Run 5K
The Rut Run 5K takes place in Estes Park, Colorado as part of Elk Fest on October 3, 2026. The course begins on Fish Hatchery Road and finishes at Performance Park along the River Walk. The route descends toward downtown and follows the Fall River Trail for much of the distance.
The surface includes a multi use path, a quiet rolling street for the first mile, and about 100 yards of single track dirt. Participants may see river views, golden aspen stands, and occasional elk from a safe distance. Shuttle service transports participants from the Estes Park Visitor Center to the start area. Free parking is available at the Estes Park Visitor Center parking structure on Highway 36. Restrooms are located at the Visitor Center and the Estes Park United Methodist Church.
Registration includes one complimentary beer token for Elk Fest and an option to purchase a long sleeved race shirt for an additional fee. Post race options include nearby restaurants such as Bighorn Cafe and food trucks at Elk Fest in Bond Park. Awards are given for overall and masters places plus multiple age group categories.
