Rut Run 5K : Estes Park
The Rut Run 5K is a point to point road and trail run held during Elk Fest in Estes Park. The course covers 5K (3.1 miles) and runs from Fish Hatchery Road along the Fall River Trail to a finish at Performance Park on the River Walk. The route includes a gentle rolling first mile on a quiet road, followed by miles two and three on a detached multi use trail. A short section of single track dirt path of about 100 yards is included.
Participants are transported from the Estes Park Visitor Center to the start area by a shuttle labeled the Hiker Shuttle. Restrooms are available at the Estes Park Visitor Center and at Estes Park United Methodist Church. The event date is October 3, 2026.
Entry fees are published by category: Adults $45, Youth 14 and under $35, Seniors 60 and up $35; an additional fee applies for race day registration and for optional long sleeve shirts. Each participant receives one beer token valid for Elk Fest weekend activities. Awards are presented for overall 1st and 2nd male and female, overall masters 1st and 2nd for ages 40 and older, and a range of age group awards from 13 and under through 80 and older.
