Running Wild Mile
The Quad Cities Criterium Running Wild Mile is a 1 mile running event held in the Village of East Davenport, Iowa. Taking place on Memorial Day, the foot race occurs on the same course used for professional cycling races, positioned between the women's and men's pro cycling events. The starting line is located at the intersection of Christie Street and East 12th Street.
Participants navigate a single mile through the Village of East Davenport. The event is open to all ability levels and includes specific features such as:
- 1 mile road race on the Criterium course.
- Costume contest for participants.
- Prize money for top finishers.
Post-race amenities are provided at the finish line, including complimentary food and drinks. Participants aged 21 and over receive a drink ticket for use at the Raccoon Motel. Event t-shirts are available for purchase during the registration process. Packet pickup is organized on the day of the race at a designated location near the Lindsay Park basketball courts.
The event schedule also includes a separate kids race for ages 3 to 9 and a specialized event known as the Faterium, which take place prior to the main mile run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
