Running Toilet 5K & Leak Detective Kids Fun Run - Kearns
The event on Saturday, August 8, 2026 combines a community 5K road race and a short kids fun run focused on water conservation and leak awareness. The program promotes simple household actions to reduce wasted water and pairs a timed 5K with a family-oriented kids course.
Participants receive race bibs and chip timing for the 5K, event t-shirts (sizes for men, women, and youth), swag bags, and finisher medals. There is a lively finish-line gathering scheduled to occur before the Hometown Celebration Parade. A route map is provided for the 5K around Oquirrh Park in Kearns, UT.
Key logistical details include registration deadlines and packet pickup. Registration fees vary by category and deadline: early bird 5K, standard 5K, a discount for veterans and active military, and a lower fee for Leak Detective participants age 13 and under. Registration closes on Monday, July 27, and t-shirts are guaranteed only for participants registered by Monday, June 20. All registrations are non-refundable. Bib and packet pickup takes place at the Kearns Improvement District office on the scheduled pickup dates.
Awards are presented for overall top finishers and age-group winners in the 5K, and for top finishers in multiple youth age brackets in the Leak Detective Kids Run. Costumes are encouraged and a prize will be given for Best Overall Costume. Sponsorship opportunities are available to support the event.
