Running on the Ridge
The sixth annual Running on the Ridge takes place at the Greene County Fairgrounds in Paragould, Arkansas. This athletic event offers multiple distances and categories for participants to choose from:
- 10K running race
- 5K running race
- 10K Ruck
- 1 mile Dog Jog / Fun Run
The routes for the 10K, 5K, and 10K Ruck are situated through downtown Paragould and incorporate a section of the 8 Mile Creek Trail. These events start and finish at the Greene County Fairgrounds. The 1 mile Dog Jog is held specifically around the fairgrounds. All dogs must remain on a leash at all times, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after them.
The 10K Ruck category requires participants to be at least 18 years old. Ruckers must provide their own weighted pack, with a minimum requirement of 10 lbs for women and 20 lbs for men. A list of specific checkpoints is provided to rucking participants on the day of the event.
Stearns Race Timing provides timing services for the 5K and 10K running events. All participants receive a finisher prize and a ticket to the Rodeo on the Ridge. Individuals registered by May 10th are guaranteed an event t-shirt. Participants under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. The event proceeds benefit the Henry Wrinkles Foundation.
