Running on the Ridge
The sixth annual Running on the Ridge is a multi-distance sports event held in Paragould, Arkansas. The event features several distinct categories for participants to choose from:
- 10K running race
- 5K running race
- 10K Ruck
- 1 mile Dog Jog and Fun Run
The 10K, 5K, and 10K Ruck courses lead participants through downtown Paragould and along a section of the 8 Mile Creek Trail. These races start and finish at the Greene County Fairgrounds. The 1 mile Dog Jog takes place within the grounds of the Greene County Fairgrounds. For the dog jog, all animals must remain on a leash at all times.
Specific requirements apply to the 10K Ruck category. Participants must be at least 18 years old and are required to provide their own rucksack. The pack must weigh at least 10 lbs for women and 20 lbs for men. A list of checkpoints is provided to rucking participants on the day of the event.
All registered participants receive a finisher prize and a ticket to the Saturday night Rodeo on the Ridge. Participants who register before May 10th are also provided with a t-shirt. Professional race timing is provided for the 5K and 10K running distances. Any participant under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
