Event overview

The Running of the Pilgrims is an annual 5K road run held in Plymouth, Massachusetts on Thursday, November 27, 2025. The course starts at Plymouth Rock / DCR Pilgrim Memorial State Park on Water Street. Walkers are welcome. Running strollers should start at the back of the field. Dogs are not permitted. There is no water stop on the course; water is available at the finish line.

Registration, logistics and other details

All registration is online only; paper registration is not available. Online registration for the 2025 race is closed. Race-day registration and on-site bib pickup are available online only and close at 7:20 AM. Pre-race bib pickup is at Marathon Sports, 9 Court Street, Plymouth on November 23-26 with specific daily pickup hours. The shirt deadline for 2025 registrations was Thursday, October 30, 2025; shirts not picked up before the race are distributed at the finish line and cannot be mailed.

Water Street from Union Street to Brewster Street will be closed to all traffic on race day and there is no parking in this area. Participants are advised to consult Park Plymouth for parking locations and meter rules; meters are in effect during paid parking season.

There is no awards ceremony on race day; awards may be picked up after the holiday at Marathon Sports. Awards are given 1st-3rd overall male and female and 1st-3rd in age groups from 10 & under through 80+. Race proceeds support local charities including Wonderfund, South Shore Community Action Council food programs, and the Plymouth Family Resource Center.
