Run With Rob
Run With Rob is a multi-day running challenge presented as a national movement to raise awareness and funds for congenital cytomegalovirus (cCMV), the most common infectious cause of birth defects in Canada. The initiative emphasizes the importance of newborn screening and notes that some Maritime provinces do not yet have systematic screening programs.
The event has covered entire provincial routes in past years and received media coverage. The site announces a visit to Nova Scotia in July and August 2026. Past editions included long-distance routes through other provinces, and training guides of varying lengths are available to support preparation.
Recorded distances from recent editions:
- 506 kilometres across Manitoba in 2023
- 548 kilometres through New Brunswick in 2024
The project also features a petition supporting universal newborn screening for cCMV and involves sponsors and partners to support the awareness and fundraising activities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
