Run With Rob
Run With Rob is an annual long distance running campaign that raises awareness and funds for congenital CMV (cCMV), the most common infectious cause of birth defects in Canada.
The campaign stages multi day, province wide runs made up of marathons. The site notes 14 marathons over 14 days as part of this movement.
Past and planned routes mentioned:
- 506 kilometres across Manitoba in 2023
- 548 kilometres through New Brunswick in 2024
- a perimeter run of Prince Edward Island in 2025 The campaign is also scheduled to visit Nova Scotia in 2026.
The campaign advocates for universal newborn screening for cCMV in Canada and highlights that early detection can change outcomes for infants. Training guides are provided in several lengths, including 12 week, 8 week, 6 week and 4 week programs. The site also references a petition in support of screening and options to donate to the associated organization. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
