Event overview
The Run Wild 5K & Kids Run takes place on Saturday, July 4, 2026 in Houston, Texas at 1141 Uptown Park Blvd, 77056. The event benefits Special Olympics Texas and Girls on the Run Greater Houston. It includes a chip-timed 5K run/walk and a kids run of approximately 0.6 mile open to ages 12 and under. Timing uses a disposable tag handed out at packet pickup and results can be sent by text or email. A finish-line video clip is available within a day of the event.

Registration for the 5K opens December 18, 2025. Listed entry fees include: $35 until March 31, 2026; $40 from April 1 to May 31; $43 June 1 to June 25; $45 June 26 to July 3; race-day registration $50 (phone registration). Kids run entry fee is listed as $25 and registration closes July 1, 2026.
Packet pickup location is 6590 Woodway Dr, Houston, TX 77057 with scheduled pickup on the two days before the race and limited race-day pickup for out-of-town participants. First 1,125 packet pickups receive a tech tank (male and female cuts); sizes are not guaranteed. No refunds or exchanges. City insurance rules prohibit pets, baby strollers and wheeled vehicles in the 5K; strollers are allowed in the kids run only. Participants under 18 need a parent or guardian waiver.
