Event overview
The Run Wild 5K & Kids Run takes place Saturday, July 4, 2026, in Houston, TX at 1141 Uptown Park Blvd, 77056. The event includes the following distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- ~0.6 mile Kids Run (open to ages 12 and under)
The event is hosted by Runner's High Club and benefits Special Olympics Texas and Girls on the Run Greater Houston.
Entry, packet pickup and race services
Standard entry prices listed in the race information include $35 for the 5K and $25 for the Kids Run. A staged pricing schedule for the 5K is shown: $35 until March 31, 2026; $40 from April 1 to May 31; $43 June 1 to June 25; $45 June 26 to July 3; race day $50. Kids Run registration ends July 1, 2026. Participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian signed waiver.
Packet pickup is at 6590 Woodway Dr, Houston, TX 77057 on scheduled pickup days before the event; same-day pickup is available for out-of-town participants. The first 1,125 packet pickups receive a tech tank (male and female cut) while supplies last; tank sizes are not guaranteed.
Timing is electronic using a disposable tag distributed at packet pickup. Results and finish notifications can be delivered by text or email. A free finisher video is available after the event.
Amenities, awards and rules
Kids receive a medal, tank, sunglasses, socks, custom bib, and a superhero cape and mask. Other participant items listed include a custom bib, finisher medal, sunglasses, tech tank, running socks, and post-event beer from Magnolia Brewing Co. Snacks, water and soft drinks are provided.
Awards are given to overall male and female winners, overall master male and female winners, and top 3 male and female in five-year age groups from 14 and under through 70+. City of Houston insurance rules prohibit pets, baby strollers and wheeled vehicles in the 5K; strollers are allowed in the Kids Run only. No refunds or exchanges.
