Run Wild 5K
Run Wild 5K takes place at the Fort Wayne Zoo on June 5 and June 6, 2026. The course covers multiple surfaces including concrete, wooden bridges, grass, and gravel, and passes through the Africa and Australia exhibits, Stingray Bay, and past the Peacock Cafe. The route includes some narrow zoo paths, so field size will be limited.
Registration opens January 1 and closes January 31, with a registration fee of $40 and no day of registration. Participants will receive a commemorative race shirt, a timing bib, and a finisher medal. 5K participants may use their race bib for free reentry into the Fort Wayne Zoo on Saturday following completion of the Saturday 5K.
Participants should enter through the Sherman Blvd entrance on race day; the Goshen Road entrance will be closed. Spectators are allowed inside certain areas of the front gates from the main plaza to the Africa tunnel area but are not permitted beyond barriers. Due to the all terrain nature of the course, runners under age 10 should be accompanied by an adult who is also running. Proceeds support the Fort Wayne Zoo. For animal safety, pets are not permitted; service animals must check in at Zoo guest services prior to the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
