Run Wild 5K - Details
Run Wild 5K takes place Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6, 2026 at the Fort Wayne Zoo, 3411 Sherman Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN 46808. There are two separate 5K events, one on each day. Entry for each event is listed at $40. Registration opens January 1, 2026. Proceeds support the Fort Wayne Zoo.

Course and logistics
The route passes through zoo areas described as Africa, Australia, Stingray Bay and past the Peacock Cafe. Surfaces include concrete, wooden bridges, grass and gravel. Zoo paths are narrow in some areas, so the event has a participant cap and there will be no day-of registration. Participants should enter through the Sherman Blvd entrance; the Goshen Road entrance will be closed.
Registered participants receive a commemorative race shirt, a timing bib, and a finisher medal. 5K participants may use their race bib for free reentry to the Fort Wayne Zoo on Saturday following the 5K. Children under 10 should be accompanied by an adult who is also running. Stroller riders do not need separate registration unless a shirt and timing bib are requested. Dogs and other pets are not permitted; service animals must check in at zoo guest services before the event. Spectators are allowed inside limited front-gate areas up to barriers.
