Run Wild 5K at Fort Wayne Zoo
Run Wild is a two-day event on June 5 and June 6, 2026 at the Fort Wayne Zoo, 3411 Sherman Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN 46808. The event offers a single distance of 3 Miles run on paths that include concrete, wooden bridges, grass and gravel.
The course travels through zoo areas identified as Africa and Australia, passes Stingray Bay and the Peacock Cafe, and includes some narrow zoo paths. Because some sections are narrow, organizers will limit the number of participants. Entry for participants on race day is through the Sherman Boulevard entrance; the Goshen Road entrance will be closed.
Participants receive a commemorative race shirt, a timing bib and a finisher medal. 5K participants may use their race bib for free reentry into the zoo on Saturday following completion of the Saturday 5K. Spectators are allowed inside certain front-gate areas up to the Africa tunnel area but are not permitted beyond barriers set for the event.
Registration opens January 1, 2026 and closes January 31, 2026; the registration fee is $40.00. There will be no day-of registration on Saturday. Runners under age 10 should be accompanied by an adult who is also running. Dogs and other pets are not permitted; service animals must check in at Zoo guest services prior to the race.
