Event Overview

The Run Wild 5K takes place at the Fort Wayne Zoo. Runners can choose to participate on either Friday, June 5, or Saturday, June 6, 2026.

Course Details

The 5K course runs through the zoo grounds. The route features multiple terrains, including concrete paths, wooden bridges, grass, and gravel. The course passes through themed areas such as Africa, Australia, Stingray Bay, and the Peacock Cafe.

Race Information

There is a participant cap due to narrow zoo paths in some areas. Day-of registration is not available. All participants should enter through the Sherman Boulevard entrance on race day; the Goshen Road entrance will be closed.

Participants receive a commemorative race shirt, a timing bib, a finisher medal, and free entry to the Fort Wayne Zoo on Saturday, June 6, 2026, following the event. Spectators are allowed in certain areas inside the front gates, from the main plaza to the Africa tunnel area.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Fort Wayne Zoo. Dogs and other pets are not permitted, though service animals are allowed after checking in at zoo guest services prior to the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
