Event overview
Run Wild 5K takes place Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6, 2026 at the Fort Wayne Zoo, 3411 Sherman Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN 46808. The event is presented by Fort4Fitness and the Fort Wayne Zoo and offers the 5K distance on two separate event days. Each event has a registration fee of $40 and registration opens January 1, 2026.
Course and logistics
The route uses multiple terrains including concrete, wooden bridges, grass, and gravel and passes through zoo areas labeled Africa, Australia, Stingray Bay, and past the Peacock Cafe. Zoo paths are narrow in some sections, so the field size is capped. The Goshen Road entrance will be closed on race day; participants should enter through the Sherman Blvd entrance.
Entry details and rules
There will be no day-of registration. Participants receive a commemorative race shirt, a timing bib, and a finisher medal, and 5K participants receive free entry to the Fort Wayne Zoo on Saturday following the race. Runners under age 10 must be accompanied by an adult who is also running. Dogs and other pets are not permitted; service animals must check in at Zoo guest services prior to the event.
