Event Format
The Run Under The Stars Paducah is a timed endurance run held at night. The main event is a 10-hour effort where participants can run, jog, or walk as they wish. Runners decide their own distance goal, whether it's a half marathon, marathon, or an ultra. The event takes place at Carson Park Fairgrounds in Paducah, Kentucky.
Course Details
The course is a flat, 0.5-mile lighted oval track. The surface is a dirt track covered with finely crushed limestone, originally used for horse racing. The course has no traffic, no hills, and a soft running surface.
On-Site Facilities
A large aid station is located on the track. It offers snacks, fruit, salty items, soda, and hot foods like grilled cheese sandwiches and bacon. Participants are encouraged to bring their own fluid containers to minimize cup usage. On-site parking is available in a large lot or on the grass infield. Participants can set up personal tents in the grass infield or alongside the course starting on the afternoon of the event.
Registration and Awards
Registration includes a race shirt and a custom finisher's medal. To guarantee a shirt, registration must be completed by a specified date in May. Packet pickup begins at the race site on the day of the event.
Additional Information
The event uses a chip timing system that continuously tracks and displays each runner's distance. A separate kids' run is also offered. Dogs are not allowed on the course but may be brought if kept on a leash away from the running area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
