Event Overview
The Run Under The Stars Paducah is a 10-hour endurance run taking place at the Carson Park Fairgrounds in Paducah, Kentucky. Participants can run, jog, walk, or rest as they like on a flat, half-mile lighted oval track. The surface is a dirt track covered with finely crushed limestone, originally a horse track.
Course and Format
The run is a timed event where the goal is to cover as much distance as possible within 10 hours, but participants can stop at any time. The course features a chip timing system that continuously tracks and displays each runner's distance. There is no vehicle traffic, no hills, and no hard running surface.
On-Site Amenities
A large aid station on the track offers a variety of snacks, fruit, salty items like pretzels and chips, soda, PB&J sandwiches, grilled cheese sandwiches, and bacon. Runners are asked to bring their own fluid containers to reduce cup usage. Ample on-site parking is available in a large lot or on the grass infield. Participants can set up tents in the grassy infield starting from the afternoon before the event.
Registration Details
Registration includes a shirt and a custom medal for all runners, with shirts guaranteed for those who register by a specified date in May. Top finishers receive custom awards. A separate kids' run for ages 1–14 is also offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
