Run to the Rock - 31st Annual
Run to the Rock is a road race series held in Marshfield, Massachusetts, with all distances starting and finishing at Furnace Brook Middle School, 500 Furnace Street. The event offers three distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- 1/2 Marathon
All registration is online only. Registration fees vary by age category and by registration period: early bird (through April 19), regular online registration (April 20 through September 7) and late registration (September 8 through September 12). The half marathon has a course time limit of three hours. Minimum age to participate in the half marathon is 13. Distance change and transfer requests are accepted through September 4.
Course descriptions note that the 5K is primarily flat and runs out and back around the school and a nearby quiet neighborhood. The 10K travels toward the Pine Street area through a low traffic neighborhood with a few hills. The half marathon proceeds into North Marshfield and reaches the North River along Union Street.
On-course hydration stops are provided for each distance and include water and Gatorade at select mile points. Bathrooms are available at the start and finish and at specified points on the half marathon course. Awards are given to overall top three male and female finishers in each distance and by age group for 5K, 10K and half marathon. Race organizers support local Boys & Girls Club organizations.
