Run to the Rock

Event overview
The Run to the Rock is an annual road race held in Marshfield, MA, with all races starting and finishing at Furnace Brook Middle School, 500 Furnace Street. The event offers three distances:
- 5K - out-and-back, primarily flat around the school and a quiet neighborhood.
- 10K - route through low-traffic neighborhoods with a few short hills.
- 1/2 Marathon - course into North Marshfield reaching the North River along Union Street.
The event is presented as a USATF-sanctioned race. All finishers receive a Run to the Rock finishers medal.
Logistics and race details
Hydration is provided on course: the 5K has one water stop near the halfway point; the 10K has stops at miles 2, 4 and 5; the half marathon has multiple stops at miles 2, 3.7, 5.5, 6.8, 8.1, 9.8 and 11.6, with Gatorade at miles 6.8 and 9.8. Restrooms are available at the start and finish and at two points on the half marathon course. The half marathon has a 3 hour course time limit; minimum age for that distance is 13.
Awards are given to the overall top three male and female finishers in each distance. Age-group awards are specified for the 5K/10K and the half marathon, and awards are distributed at the conclusion of each race. Race day parking is at Furnace Brook Middle School with overflow at the Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield. Shirt orders had a deadline and unclaimed shirts are distributed at the finish on a first-come, first-served basis. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
