Run to the Rock - 31st Annual (September 12, 2026)
Run to the Rock is a road race event in Marshfield, MA, with all races starting and finishing at Furnace Brook Middle School, 500 Furnace Street. The event offers three distances:
- 5K primarily flat out-and-back around the school and a quiet neighborhood.
- 10K through low-traffic residential streets toward the Pine Street area with a few short hills.
- 1/2 Marathon that extends into North Marshfield and reaches the North River along Union Street.
Hydration is provided on course: the 5K has one water stop near the halfway point; the 10K has stops at miles 2, 4 and 5; the half marathon has stops at miles 2, 3.7, 5.5, 6.8, 8.1, 9.8 and 11.6, with Gatorade available at miles 6.8 and 9.8. Drinks and snacks are available at the finish line. Bathrooms are located at the start and finish and at miles 5.5 and 8.1 on the half marathon course.
Registration is online only. The shirt order deadline is end of day Monday, August 18; shirts are not mailed and leftover shirts will be distributed at the finish on a first-come, first-served basis. Number pickup occurs the Friday before at the Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield and the Saturday morning at Furnace Brook Middle School. Distance change and transfer requests are accepted until Thursday, September 4.
The half marathon has a 3-hour course time limit and the minimum age to participate is 13. Awards include overall top three male and female finishers in each distance and age-group awards for the 5K, 10K and half marathon. The event supports the Boys & Girls Club of Plymouth and the Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield. Dogs are not allowed on the race course; trained service animals are handled with advance notice.
