31st Annual Run to the Rock
The Run to the Rock is scheduled for September 12, 2026 in Marshfield, Massachusetts with all races starting and finishing at Furnace Brook Middle School, 500 Furnace Street. The event features three distances:
- 5K: primarily flat out and back around the school and a quiet neighborhood.
- 10K: route through a low traffic neighborhood toward Pine Street with a few hills.
- 1/2 Marathon: course into North Marshfield reaching the North River along Union Street.
All registration is online only. There are tiered registration periods including an early bird deadline through April 19, an online period through early September, and a final late registration window in the days just before the race. The race shirt deadline is the end of day Monday, August 26; shirts not picked up before the race will be distributed at the finish on a first come, first served basis and cannot be mailed. Distance change and bib transfer requests are accepted until 7pm on Thursday, September 4 and will not be processed on race day.
On course services include hydration stations approximately every two miles and additional Gatorade at selected half marathon stops. Drinks and snacks will be available at the finish line. Bathrooms are available at the start and finish and at multiple points on the half marathon course. The half marathon has a three hour course time limit; services are limited after that time. All finishers receive a Run to the Rock medal.
Awards are given to the overall top three male and female finishers in each distance. Age group awards are provided for the 5K, 10K and half marathon with specific age group categories; awards must be collected on race day. Parking is in the rear lot at Furnace Brook Middle School with overflow at the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield. No dogs are allowed on the race courses. Strollers are permitted in the 5K and 10K and are requested to start near the back. Volunteers are welcome and may select a free future race as an incentive.
