Run to Remember - Sykesville, MD
Run to Remember is a memorial running event held April 17, 2027, at Piney Run Park, 30 Martz Rd, Sykesville, MD. The event honors club members who have passed and includes a portion dedicated to posters of lost loved ones.
The course is a 5.25 mile loop of woods and meadows with lake views on about half the loop. Runners pass two locations where water stops can be accessed, and each loop returns to a well stocked aid station offering a variety of food and drinks.
Distances offered
- 50K 6 laps of the 5.25 mile loop
- 25K 3 laps of the 5.25 mile loop
- 5 Miler 1 lap of the 5.25 mile loop
- 8 Hour Challenge as many laps as completed within the 8 hour period
Race fees include park entrance, a custom Ice Bandana, and a Run to Remember ceramic mug. Medal awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each race. The 8 Hour Challenge records the number of completed loops so participants are timed rather than marked DNF; runners in the 50K, 25K, and 5 Miler must finish their required laps to avoid a DNF.
The event runs rain or shine. All fees are nonrefundable and there is no race day registration. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at Otzi Mediterranean Restaurant in Eldersburg. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
