Run to Remember - Sykesville

Run to Remember is an event held at Piney Run Park in Sykesville, MD that centers on a looped trail course through woods and meadows. The course uses a 5.25 mile loop that passes the lake on about half of its length and can be repeated for longer distances.

The course layout includes two places to pass a water stop along the loop. Each loop transition features a well stocked aid station offering a variety of food and drinks. The event dedicates a portion of the race site to posters remembering lost loved ones and offers details for participants who wish to include a tribute.

Distances offered include:

• 50K: 6 laps of the 5.25 mile loop
• 25K: 3 laps of the 5.25 mile loop
• 5 Miler: 1 lap of the 5.25 mile loop
• 8 Hour Challenge: as many laps as a runner completes in the time period

Race fees include park entrance, a custom ice bandana, and a unique Run to Remember ceramic mug. Medal awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each race. The event is held rain or shine, fees are nonrefundable, there is no race day registration, and optional apparel is available at registration. Membership promo codes are provided to club members. For the 8 Hour Challenge participants are timed by completed laps so there is no DNF; runners in the fixed-distance races are recorded as DNF if they do not finish.
