Run to Remember : Sykesville, April 17, 2027
The Run to Remember is a trail event on April 17, 2027 in Piney Run Park, 30 Martz Rd, Sykesville MD. The course is a 5.25 mile loop through woods and meadows with lake views along about half the loop. Distances offered are:
- 50K: six laps of the 5.25 mile loop
- 25K: three laps of the 5.25 mile loop
- 5 Miler: one lap of the 5.25 mile loop
- 8 Hour Challenge: as many laps as the runner completes within the challenge
There are two locations on the course to pass a water stop, and the transition area at the end of each loop is a well stocked aid station offering a variety of food and drinks. The event dedicates a portion of the race to posters of lost loved ones.
Race fees cover park entrance, a custom Ice Bandana, and a unique Run to Remember ceramic mug. Medal awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers in each race. The event is held rain or shine, all fees are nonrefundable, and there is no race day registration. Packet pick up is scheduled the day before at Otzi Mediterranean Restaurant in Eldersburg. Membership promo codes are distributed to ERR members and a portion of proceeds supports the club, a youth program, a scholarship, and the American Association for Cancer Research.
