Event overview
Run to Remember is a memorial road/trail event held at Piney Run Park, 30 Martz Rd, Sykesville, MD. The event offers four entry options:
- 50K
- 25K
- 5 Miler
- 8 Hour Challenge
Registration closes on Wed, Apr 15. The event is held rain or shine and all fees are nonrefundable. There is no race-day registration. Packet pick-up details are to be determined. Optional apparel is available for purchase.
Course, services and awards
The course is a 5.25-mile loop through woods and meadows, with lake views on about half the loop. The 50K consists of six loops; the 25K consists of three loops. There are two places to pass a water stop on the course and a well-stocked aid station at the transition of each loop with a variety of food and drinks. The 8 Hour Challenge is scored by laps completed. Race fees include park entrance, a race hat or visor, and a finisher medal; completing the 50K also includes a custom mug. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each race. Proceeds support the organizing club, its youth program, a high school scholarship, and a portion is donated to the American Association for Cancer Research.
