Run the Vineyards - Cork High & Bottle Deep Half Marathon
The Run the Vineyards Half Marathon takes place at Blue Cork Winery in Williamstown, New Jersey. The course is scenic, mostly paved and flat, and includes about half a mile on vineyard property. The route starts and finishes at the landscaped vineyard and passes outdoor seating areas.
The race is chip timed over 13.1 Miles. Hydration and aid stations are available at roughly two mile intervals. On-course music and cheer stations are placed at various locations. There is a 10K split on course and porta potties near mile 2 and mile 11. The event uses police controlled roadways and is capped at approximately 450 runners. A 3.5 hour time limit applies. Strollers are allowed and free downloadable race photos are provided.
Post-race offerings include a complimentary glass of wine for finishers, live rock and roll music, multiple food trucks including Hands Down BBQ, indoor and outdoor areas for relaxing, and on-site massage therapy. All finishers receive a souvenir wine glass and a custom finisher medal; a long-sleeve swag item is provided to participants. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and to age group winners in ten-year categories.
Packet pick-up is available both before race day and on the same day at the winery. The event lists Headstrong Foundation as its charity partner. Volunteers are invited and receive event perks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
