Run the Plains Moree 2026
Run the Plains Moree is a regional running festival held in Moree on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 September 2026. Events take place in the Moree CBD and at the race precinct beside the Visitor Information Centre at Lyle Houlahan Park, 67 Alice Street, Moree.
Friday evening in the Moree CBD features short community sprints and kids races, including the Kamilaroi Kiddos Dash and the Community K, plus the Kamilaroi K with categories for wheelchair and accessible entrants, age groups from 6 years, open men and women, and 60 plus. Participants may be asked to marshal at least two events prior to their start group. Balo Street will be closed between Gwydir Street and Albert Street to accommodate the Friday program, and parking is available in adjacent streets.
Saturday’s program runs through pathways beside the Mehi River and the town centre, on predominantly concrete paths with about 500 metres of fine gravel on Victoria Terrace. On-course support includes water, electrolytes, energy gels, first aid and toilets. Finish-line services include contrast therapy and recovery nutrition, and food and drink vendors will be on site. Cash prizes and medals are allocated for age category place getters. The stacked Triple requires completion of the half marathon and 10km within event cut-offs in order to proceed to the following legs.

Key registration dates include an early bird cut-off of 31 August and a personalised bib cut-off of 17 September 2026. Race bib collection is scheduled across Friday and Saturday at locations in the CBD and the race precinct. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
