Run the Plains Moree 2026
Run the Plains Moree 2026 is a two-day regional running festival in Moree, New South Wales, staged across the Moree CBD and the race precinct at the Visitor Information Centre, Lyle Houlahan Park, 67 Alice Street. The program includes short kids sprints and a range of road and path races that follow scenic routes near the Mehi River.
Friday’s Moree CBD program features the Kamilaroi Kiddos Dash (200 m), a non-competitive Community K (1 km) with entry fees donated to Gwydir Industries, and the S&L Girard Grader Hire Kamilaroi K (1 km) with category prizes. An optional teams tournament allows groups of at least three to enter for category awards judged on participation and creativity. Balo and Heber Streets are used as the start and finish for most 1 km events.
Saturday’s events are based at Lyle Houlahan Park and use mostly concrete pathways with about 500 m of fine gravel. On-course support includes water, electrolytes, energy gels, first aid and toilets. Finish-line services include contrast therapy and recovery nutrition provided by a mobile recovery service. Cash prizes are awarded for many age categories based on age turned in 2026. Some races have age restrictions and the Triple (Half Marathon + 10 km + 5 km) has time limits for the half and 10 km legs.
Key registration dates include an early bird cutoff on 31 August and a personalised bib cutoff on 17 September. Volunteer opportunities are available via the event registration system. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
