Course and navigation

  • The 6 km route is an out-and-back along Norman Bay beach and the headland.
  • The 21 km follows the coast, turns inland to Telegraph Track Junction, then returns.
  • The 42 km follows the 21 km route but includes a climb of Mt Oberon before returning.
  • The 50 km is a lighthouse return route via Waterloo Bay and the southern tip of the prom.
  • The 75 km follows the 50 km route and includes a climb of Mt Oberon.

Logistics and safety

Mandatory gear is required; participants with incomplete gear are not permitted to start. The 50 km and 75 km distances are noted as requiring experience to ensure readiness and safe return. Registration options include on-day entry, with on-day prices up to 15% higher than late fees; Humanitix booking fees are added at checkout. Accommodation within the park is limited and a waitlist is available. Trailsplus donates $1 per participant to Canteen; a 2025 update recorded 111 competitors and a combined $136 donation from online runner contributions.
