Run The Karoo
Run The Karoo is a two-day trail running event held from 3 to 4 April 2027 in the heart of the Karoo near Middelburg in the Eastern Cape. The event combines multi-day off-grid routes with local hospitality and on-site accommodation options including camping and glamping. Walkers are welcome.
The weekend features local food and drink offerings such as braais, fresh farm bread, condensed milk coffee, koeksisters, and craft beer, and includes live entertainment on both evenings. All participants receive a goodie bag that includes custom-designed Run The Karoo socks, a Kakiebos T-shirt, and a "KOPPI" enamel mug; early bird entries are noted to receive a special-edition merchandise item. Event merchandise also includes an optional custom-designed running shirt and shorts.
An event booklet with routes, planned activities, and important event information is available for download. Mobile signal at the venue is limited and access to information may be restricted once on site, so participants are advised to save the guide locally before arrival.
