Run Rome The Marathon 2027
Acea Run Rome The Marathon takes place in Rome on 14 March 2027. The event includes a full marathon, a four person relay and a city fun run.
The marathon covers 42.195 km and follows a route that starts at the Fori Imperiali and passes iconic landmarks such as the Colosseum, Piazza Venezia, the Vittoriano, the Circo Massimo, Lungotevere, Castel Sant'Angelo and Viale della Conciliazione with St. Peter's Basilica in the background. Reported elevation values for the route range from about 8.1 m to 31 m above sea level.
The relay is contested by teams of four, with four unequal legs that together total 42.195 km.
The Acea Water Fun Run is a roughly 5 km non competitive event held on the Saturday before the marathon. The fun run is open to all ages, allows walking, running and participants with dogs, and does not require an agonistic medical certificate.
An Expo Village is located at Circo Massimo, about 50 metres from the Metro B Circo Massimo station; entry is free. The event programme includes training plans provided as free generic schedules and paid personalised plans available from 15 December 2025 for a stated fee of EUR 36.99.
