About the race
Acea Run Rome The Marathon is a road running event in Rome that features the full marathon distance 42,195 km, a four-person relay and a 5 km fun run. The marathon route runs through central Rome and passes several historic landmarks, including the Fori Imperiali and the Colosseum, Piazza Venezia and the Vittoriano, the Circo Massimo, the Lungotevere, Castel Sant’Angelo and Viale della Conciliazione with St. Peter’s Basilica on the route.
The relay Run4Rome is covered by teams of four runners who together complete the marathon distance. The four relay legs are:
- 1st leg: 11 km
- 2nd leg: 12,5 km
- 3rd leg: 8 km
- 4th leg: 10,695 km
The Acea Water Fun Run is a noncompetitive 5 km event with free participation for all ages and no agonistic medical certificate required. The Expo Village is located at Circo Massimo, about 50 metres from the Metro B Circo Massimo station, and has free entry.
The event reports a sustainability certification ISO 20121 obtained in 2022 through the certifier RINA. Official merchandise and finisher items are available through the event store.
