Run, Ride, Roll Past Paralysis 10K bike/5K/1 mile
Neuroworx organizes an inclusive event that brings together past and current patients and other community members to participate using wheelchairs, adaptive bikes, ski chairs, or by walking and running. All registration fees are directed to the REACH Fund, which provides financial assistance for therapy related needs such as equipment, wheelchair repairs and parts, supportive footwear or orthotics, transportation to appointments, and caregiver help for exercise and daily mobility.
The main 5K course is entirely on the Jordan River Trail in a loop format that crosses two bridges. The route heads north on the East side of the trail, crosses a bridge, and returns south on the West side to the start area. Aid stations are located at about 1.5 miles and 2.5 miles on the 5K route. The 10K bike or ski chair option consists of two laps of the 5K course.
The event base is at Dr. O. Roi Hardy Park. The Ward and Corbett Family 1 mile events use an out and back on the West side of the Jordan River Trail with a turnaround at an aid station. Specific event formats and participant types noted in the program include hand cycles, recumbent bikes, two wheeled bikes, non or power assisted wheelchairs, walkers, joggers, strollers for the 5K run walk, and separate kids one mile events for children under 12. Dogs are not permitted except for service dogs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
