About the race
Run Off-the-Grid is a remote trail running event held at 574 Snake Creek Road, Mattawan, ON, Canada on September 26, 2026. The course is entirely off-road on a 12.5 km loop that passes single track, old logging roads, rolling hills, steep climbs, rocky technical sections, creek crossings, a mud bog and a gravel pit with a sandy dune descent. Each loop is run in the opposite direction on subsequent laps.
A hike option is offered for the 12.5K and 25K distances. The event includes a post-race meal prepared by gd2go catering with choices of harvest chicken stew or curried lentil soup, plus buns, pasta salad and a leafy green salad; vegan and gluten-free options are available. Participants are asked to bring their own dishes and cutlery, and additional meal tickets can be purchased during registration.
On-site accommodations and camping are available at Nature’s Harmony. Options include log cabins, yurts, geodesic domes and glamping; site camping welcomes tents and trailers with no hydro hookups. Amenities listed include compost toilets, eco-showers, a hot sauna, group fire pits, swimming in the bay and a children’s play area. Camping fee is CA$20 per person per night and children of race participants camp free.
The event supports local causes: CA$5 from each registration goes to the Mattawa Food Bank, there is a shoe collection for Soles4Souls, and remaining proceeds are reinvested into Nature’s Harmony Ecolodge. Transfers are allowed until September 23, 2026. Refunds and deferrals are available only through the Race Roster refund program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
