Run Like Water 5K
The Run Like Water 5K is an annual five-kilometer road race that includes an exclusive, behind-the-scenes route through the F. Wayne Hill Water Resources Center (WRC). The event serves as an official qualifier for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race and has been held at The Water Tower campus.
The course begins and ends on The Water Tower Global Innovation Center campus, which opened in 2022 and serves as a hub for research, technology, and training for the water industry. The adjacent F. Wayne Hill WRC is described as an award-winning advanced wastewater treatment facility with nutrient recovery and energy recovery processes; it provides approximately 100 tours each year and produces high-quality treated effluent.
Proceeds from the Run Like Water 5K support The Water Tower Institute (501c3). Funds are directed to programming such as STEM workshops for high school students exploring water careers and workforce training for individuals seeking roles as water or wastewater operators.
