Run in the Park - Hermann Park
Run in the Park is the Hermann Park Conservancy’s 23rd annual event held at Hermann Park in Houston. The event offers in-person races and a virtual challenge that runs from November 14 to November 29, 2026. All proceeds support maintenance and operations of Hermann Park.
In-person activity centers on Molly Ann Smith Plaza near the Jones Reflection Pool, with the course starting and ending at that location. A post-run gathering at the plaza includes food, drinks, music, and additional on-site elements. The event provides one-of-a-kind finisher medals for the first 800 registered run participants.
The in-person program includes multiple routes:
- 5K route through Hermann Park
- 10K route through Hermann Park
- 1K Kids' Run with two heats for ages 7 to 12 and ages 6 and under
- Virtual Challenge open from November 14 to November 29, 2026
Organizers note that 10K runners begin before 5K runners and that runners pushing strollers or carrying objects should start toward the back for safety. Signage and volunteers will be positioned along the course. Recommended parking areas include Lots C, G, F and E, while Lots A, D, T and I will be closed. Traffic on Hermann Park Drive will be stopped periodically during the in-person events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
