Run for Your Lungs
The 16th annual Run for Your Lungs takes place on November 7, 2026 at Lake Blackshear Resort in Cordele, Georgia, at 2459-H US Highway 280 West.
The event includes these distances:
- 5K 3.1 miles
- 1 Mile Walk 1 mile
- Virtual 5K 3.1 miles
Registration opens November 11, 2025 and closes November 7, 2026. Registration fees are $30 for the 5K and the 1 Mile Walk, and $40 for the virtual 5K. The 1 Mile Walk is not a timed event, the bibs do not have chip timing, and there are no prizes for the 1 Mile. The 1 Mile route goes around the resort and stops at the concrete walkway between Cypress Grill and the marina.
Virtual participants are asked to submit run times by November 7, 2026 and to include name, age, male or female, and 5K run time.
Packet pickup is scheduled for November 5 at Austins Fire Grill on Old Dawson Road in Albany and November 6 at Cypress Grill. A Saturday morning packet pickup option is also listed.
Each participant receives a long sleeve T shirt, a goody bag, lunch, and beverages. Beer is available for participants aged 21 and over.
The event is organized by a 501(c)(3) non profit that raises awareness for lung cancer and supports people in the local area affected by the disease. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
