Run for Your Lungs : Lake Blackshear Resort, Cordele GA
This is the 16th annual Run for Your Lungs event at Lake Blackshear Resort in Cordele, Georgia. The event is organized by a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit that raises awareness of lung cancer and provides support to people in the area.
The event program includes a 5K road race, a 1 mile walk around the resort, and a virtual 5K option for participants who cannot attend in person. Registration fees listed for the organized events are $30 for the 5K, $30 for the 1 mile walk, and $40 for the virtual 5K. Packet pickup is offered at Austin's Fire Grill in Albany and at Cypress Grill, with an additional pickup opportunity on race morning.
The 1 mile walk is not a timed event; the walk bibs do not include digital chip timing and there are no prizes for the walk. Walkers should not cross the 5K finish line; the walk route circles the resort and stops at the concrete walkway between Cypress Grill and the marina.
Participants receive a long sleeve T-shirt, a goody bag, and post-event lunch and beverages. Alcohol is provided for attendees aged 21 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
