The Run For Your Life 5k Series
The Run For Your Life 5k Series is an interactive themed event held in Fairborn, Ohio. Organized by Run Ohio Races LLC, this event offers a unique twist on a standard 5k by incorporating a survival game element involving "Survivors" and "Zombies." The event is based at 691 E Dayton Yellow Springs Rd.
Participants choose between two distinct roles:
- The Run For Your Life 5k: Runners register as Survivors and wear a flag football belt.
- The Zombie Experience: Participants register as Zombies to occupy specific zones.
Survivors navigate the 5 km course while passing through clearly marked "infected zones." In these designated areas, Zombies attempt to pull flags from the Survivors' belts. Those who reach the finish line with at least one flag remaining are classified as survivors, while those who lose all flags are categorized as infected. Both groups complete the full distance and reach the finish line safe zone.
Zombies do not run the entire course. Instead, they remain within their assigned infected zones to interact with the runners. Those participating as Zombies are encouraged to wear costumes and creative makeup. All registered runners receive a finisher medal upon completion of the event, regardless of their survival status.
