Event overview
Light of the World Academy's 14th annual RUN FOR THE GOLD 5K & Kids Fun Run takes place on March 14, 2026, in Townsquare Park in downtown Pinckney, Michigan (131 S. Howell St, Pinckney, MI 48169). The 5K uses a mixed trail course that includes Michigan country dirt roads, a paved trail, and the streets of downtown Pinckney. The event benefits the new playground at Light of the World Academy. About 47% of 5K runners are under 18. The 5K draws roughly 375 runners, with additional family spectators in downtown Pinckney. The Kids Fun Run adds about 60 to 80 children. The Pinckney St. Patrick's Day parade starts right after the race. Race timing and live results are provided by the Michigan Running Foundation.

Registration fees and deadlines are:
- $30 until March 8
- $35 March 9-13
- $40 on race day (online only; cash accepted for in-person)
Kids run fee is $10. Register by March 1 to increase the chance of getting the desired shirt size. Packet pick up and in-person registration are available at the PCYDI Red House during Friday packet pick up and the morning of the race; cash or check accepted for in-person registration. 5K registration closes at 9:55 am.
