Event Overview
The 14th annual Run for the Gold event includes a 5K race and a Kids Fun Run, presented by Mugg & Bopps. It takes place in Pinckney, Michigan.
Courses
The event features two distances.
- The 5K is described as a mixed trail course using Michigan country dirt roads, paved trail, and the streets of downtown Pinckney.
- The Kids Fun Run is a quarter-mile distance, consisting of two laps around Townsquare Park.
Event Details
The race supports the local youth community and benefits Phase 2 of a new playground at Light of the World Academy. In previous years, the 5K has had around 375 runners, with 47% of participants reported as being under 18 years old. The Kids Fun Run typically hosts an additional 60-80 children.
Awards are given in male and female categories for overall winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd place) and in multiple age groups ranging from 10 & under to 70 & older. The event is professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. The Pinckney St. Patrick's Day parade is scheduled to start after the running events.
Registration and Logistics
Packet pickup and in-person registration are available on the Friday before the race and on race morning at the PCYDI Red House in Townsquare Park.
