Run for the Girls 5K Run
The annual Run for the Girls takes place in Fort Smith, Arkansas along the river. This event utilizes a USATF Certified 5K Course located on the Greg Smith River Trail. The race is chip-timed and welcomes participants of all age groups. Entrants who complete their registration before May 24, 2026, receive a commemorative T-shirt.

The event serves as a fundraiser for the Girls Shelter of Fort Smith, Inc, a United Way Community Partner. This organization provides a residential treatment facility and emergency shelter for at-risk females aged 12-17. The shelter focuses on teaching social and independent living skills, providing counseling, and promoting educational advancement.
The physical race activities are centered at 121 Riverfront Drive. For those unable to attend in person, the virtual event option allows for participation from any location.
