Run for POCO
The Run for POCO is a community athletic event held at the Pocahontas Swim Club in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The event coincides with the club's 66th year of operation and serves as a fundraiser for recent facility renovations. These improvements include a new micro glass coating for the pool surface and newly installed tiled lane lines.
Participants have the choice of two distances:
- 5k Run/Walk
- Kids 1 Mile Run
The event is open to the general community. Every race participant receives a day pass to the swim club for the date of the race, allowing them to use the pool facilities after the run. Individuals who are already members of the Pocahontas Swim Club can use this pass to bring a guest for the day. The race takes place at 3020 Ojibway Trail, providing an opportunity for runners and walkers to see the updated pool grounds firsthand. Registration fees vary by distance, with a separate rate for the children's mile and the 5k event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
