Run For Pie 5K & Kids Fun Run - Lisbon, IA
This community event is centered at Lisbon City Park on South Jackson Street and combines a chip timed 5K run and a separate kids fun run. The 5K uses an out and back route described as flat, with a water station located just before the halfway turnaround. The course begins and ends at the city park, where there is space for warm ups and playground equipment for children.

Timing is recorded with bib chips and individual results are made available for printout after the race. Packet pickup is provided on race day. Awards are given to overall winners in the form of Haitian art, and age group top three finishers may choose donated homemade pies. Every finisher receives a slice of freshly baked apple pie.
All proceeds support education programs in a sister parish community in rural Haiti. Organizers state that 100 percent of proceeds benefit over 4,000 students and that ongoing support includes regular monetary transfers and shipments of supplies and meals to schools and chapels in the partner parish.
