Event Overview
The Run Branch County 5k & Half Marathon is an annual athletic event held in Coldwater, Michigan. The third edition of this event takes place at the Dr. Robert W. Browne Recreation Center. The race serves as a fundraiser where proceeds provide local athletic organizations with the opportunity to support youth participation in sports.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- Half Marathon (13.1 Miles)
- 5K (3.1 Miles)
- Kids 50 Yard Dash (50 Yards)
Course and Amenities
The race starts and finishes at an outdoor recreational area featuring various facilities, including basketball, sand volleyball, and pickleball courts, as well as a disc golf course and a children's playground. The Half Marathon course includes five aid stations located at approximately the 3.6, 5.0, 6.8, 9.0, and 10.6-mile marks. Restrooms are available at the 5.0 and 9.0-mile stations. The 5K course features a single aid station at the 1.5-mile mark providing water and electrolyte drinks.
Registration and Awards
Registrations completed by August 1 include a commemorative t-shirt for 5K and Half Marathon participants. All finishers in these two categories receive a medal. The event is professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in various age categories, ranging from 13 and under to 70 and over. Packet pickup is organized at the recreation center on the day before the race and on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
